Congregation Presentation of Strategic Action Plan

On May 21st, over 50 people gathered at Beth El to hear the initial presentation of the proposed Strategic Plan. Below is the Powerpoint presentation – but please understand this is a working document. This plan will be discussed by the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees before any final decision is made to move forward with the proposed actions. VISIONING WORKSHOP UPDATE

On Sunday, February 10th over 50 congregants joined together for a 3 hour visioning workshop. We were transported 10 years in the future, and imagined what we would see walking in the doors of Beth El at that time. Everything from multigenerational learning programs, to enhamced social opportunities for community connections (coffee house, dinners after services, active chavurah programming), to a variety of religious services every Shabbat  (dinner service, traditional service, lay leader lead, etc) – all packed with eager participants (!) to  efficient and accurate commmunication with an interactive website and committee blogs/reports. Attached are all the ideas generated – if you like what you see and want to chime in, or if you have other thoughts, please add your comments. Or you can email David Trietsch (DavidT@cjp.org) or Lisa Weissmann (lbweissmann@gmail.com).Our next step is to sort through these fabulous ideas and break them down into 3-4 major areas – from there we will organize into committees to grapple with the goals and dreams, and work on prioritizing and evaluating each goal, with the plan to have an action plan identifying targeted goals and their potential impact/cost (financial, personnel, etc) so that the ultimate outcome is a clear set of actionable goals that we feel will give us the “biggest bang for our buck” (to coin a phrase).  This work will take place during the months of March and April, with a final report ready by May for presentation to the Board of Trustees for implementation.
